Easy kid inventions for 4th graders

Every parent of a child in the fourth grade knows that these kids are great at coming up with ideas.

I came up with this idea when my friend told me her daughter was inventing things for school.

I asked her for an email and started testing ideas for kids. So, here’s a list of 10 easy kid inventions for 4th graders.

Shady Lamp

Shady Lamp is a lamp that you can use to make your room shady. It does this by making it darker, and also blocking out the sun.

It’s a great solution for kids who are sensitive to light, and it’s also a fun way to make your room look like it’s nighttime even when you’re in class during the day.

All you need is cardboard, a wooden frame, and glue. Cut out two square holes on each side of the cardboard, large enough to fit your head through.

Cut out a square hole in the center of the cardboard and attach it to the back of your head with tape or glue. Now put your face through the holes and turn on a lamp!

Popsicles

Popsicles are one of the easiest inventions for 4th graders to make. All you need is some fruit juice and popsicle sticks.

You can choose your own flavor combinations and make fun shapes.

The first step to making popsicles is to take a popsicle mold and fill it with water.

Next, you will need to add food coloring and flavoring in order to give your popsicles a fun color or taste. After that, you will need to put the molds in the freezer for about 6 hours.

Once they are ready, pull the popsicles out of the molds and enjoy!

Wristies

Wristies is a product that helps you keep your hands warm when it’s cold outside.

It’s also great for keeping your hands warm if you’re playing sports, or if you have arthritis or any other condition that makes it hard to keep your hands warm.

It has a velcro strap that goes around the wrist to keep it in place. You can wear them on both wrists or just one, depending on what works best for you.

They come in different colors and sizes so they’ll fit any wrist size.

Mancans

diy candle mancans invention

Mancans are a great project to do with 4th graders. You’ll need to gather some things, like a can, string or rope, and some paper clips.

First, you’ll need to cut the top off of the can and then cut two holes just big enough for your hands to go in through them.

Then you’ll want to slide one end of the rope through one hole and then tie it around your wrist so that you have something to hold onto while you are throwing it.

Next, take those paper clips and attach them to the other end of the rope so that they stick out from your hand when you throw it.

If you’re having trouble getting this part right, try using duct tape instead of string or rope!

Swimming Fins

If you’re a 4th grader and want to invent something, try a swimming fin. It’ll help you get around in the water faster.

You can make it by using some PVC pipe, rubber bands, and duct tape.

Swimming fins are also useful for kids who are already confident swimmers, but whose parents want to make sure they’re safe as they practice new strokes or work on improving their skills.

It’s easy to lose track of your child when they’re swimming in open water, so these fins will make it easier for you to keep an eye on them while they practice their skills.

Leaf Catcher

In order to make an easy leaf catcher, you’ll need fabric, ropes, glue, and sticks.

You can use any kind of fabric you want, but I recommend using something with a lot of texture so that it will hold up better when it gets wet or dirty.

You’ll also need some rope for tying the fabric together and some sticks for keeping the sides up while they dry out after washing them off with water afterward (this will help keep them from falling down).

The device can be attached to a tree branch with tape or string, and then it collects the leaves as they fall through the air.

The student who invented this device said that it makes him feel good to help keep his neighborhood clean, and he has even won an award for his invention.

Soap holder

soup holder invented by 4 old kid

Soap holders are an easy solution for keeping soap dry after washing your hands.

All you need is two identical cups and a rubber band.

Cut the bottom of one cup off so that it fits over the top of the other cup, leaving enough room for the rubber band to fit around both cups.

Now take the rubber band and wrap it around both cups in a figure eight pattern, leaving about a half inch between each loop.

Now place this on top of your sink so that it sits about an inch off the countertop and voila! You have yourself a soap holder!

Toothbrush tongs

This is a great invention for 4th graders. To make these toothbrush tongs, you will need two toothbrushes, a clip, and glue.

First, take your clip and attach it to one side of the handle of the toothbrush.

Next, glue the other handle to the other side of the clip so that there is no gap between them.

Finally, connect them together with a rubber band or string.

Push pin holder

push pin holder

If you are a parent, you know that kids have tons of push pins. The problem is that they never know where to put them.

Well, we have the solution for you: a push pin holder! That’s one of the Easy kid inventions for 4th graders.

All you need is modeling clay and a balloon. You can make it in any shape or color you want! You can even use it as a decoration for your room or office.

Take a piece of modeling clay and form it into a little ball. Then, put the balloon on top of the clay and twist the balloon around so that it’s covered in clay.

When you’re done, let the air out of the balloon, and then pop it with your fingers!

Now you have a push pin holder that’s easy to hold onto and won’t break if you drop it.

Pringles Hook

If you’re a kid and you love Pringles, you know how frustrating it can be when your hand gets stuck in the tube.

Well, what if we told you there’s a way to solve that problem? And all it takes is some tin foil, a piece of cardboard, and a bit of glue!

Start by cutting out a rectangle from your cardboard, about 3 inches wide and 1 inch tall.

Next, cut another piece of cardboard that’s about 2 inches wide and 2 inches tall.

Then take your tin foil and wrap it around the base of the smaller piece of cardboard so that it covers two sides, leaving one side open.

Then stick your smaller piece of cardboard into the larger one so they form an “L” shape with their edges touching each other.

Now glue them together so they stay put! You’re done with your Pringles Hook! Now all you have to do is attach it to your Pringles tube and voila!
