From the desk of the President

Our March meeting was very interesting as usual. In the first hour we discussed what the members wanted to hear about in future meetings, among the items mentioned were such things as, how to prepare a business plan, inviting other associations, intellectual property, marketing through the internet, future products and valuing inventions. All were very good suggestions and I am sure our Program Chairman Charlie Ketcham will be busy putting the programs together.

The ongoing impromptu discussions and networking are always an exciting part of our meetings. Our second hour began with an exciting new feature put together by Steve Des Jardens we will be evaluating products brought to Steve and our members will fill out a sheet giving their impressions of what needs to be done to bring the product to the market successfully. This is already proving to be a very exciting way to help our fellow inventors!!!! Steve already has had several more people ask to have us evaluate their product or idea. This will be an ongoing program.

Our 3td hour began with a few announcements and the ever helpful Don Costar is trying to put himself out of business by showing us how to do our own patent searches to hear Don talk it sounds very simple and I believe it is. It's hard to believe this man's dedication to NIA, Katherine was in the hospital very seriously ill and he still came down and gave his talk to help us BIG TIME THANK YOU FROM ALL OUR MEMBERSHIP DON!!

This month's speaker should be very interesting! Allen Putnam has invented a cigar humidor and it has proved to be quite successfill, Allen has graciously agreed to share his experiences both good and bad with us. A couple of things worth mentioning: Gary Fosberg finally got enough good weather to get over the hill it was great seeing him again but it seems I am in his doghouse for naming Jerry Eldridge Sargent at Arms in his absence, Won't Worry Gary I will find something for you to do.

Our museum project is coming along very well! Dr. Torch, Carol Anderson, Don Evans and myself are trying to find a catchy name for it. Maybe sorneone out there can help us? The current "name" (not official) is Museum of Invention, Technology and Industry, And the Children's Exploratorium as you can see that is rather long and cumbersome so please put on your thinking hats and see if we can come up with a great name. Wouldn't it be great to tell your friends you named a Museum? Bring you written suggestions to the next meeting.
